✦ Your Navratri. Your Ekadashi. Your every fasting day — sorted.

WHAT IS IT?
Buckwheat Noodles are made from 100% kuttu (buckwheat) flour — a pseudocereal that is naturally gluten-free and one of the most widely accepted upvas ingredients across all major Indian fasting traditions. Despite the name, buckwheat has no relation to wheat. Kuttu has been consumed in India during fasting for centuries and these noodles bring it into a quick, satisfying modern format. Available in 110g (single serve) and 220g packs.

KEY INGREDIENTS
• Buckwheat (Kuttu) Flour — 100%; accepted in Navratri, Ekadashi, Mahashivaratri, most Hindu fasts
• Sendha Namak (Rock Salt) — fasting-appropriate mineral salt
• Water
• Nothing else — no wheat, no maida, no binders, no preservatives

WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT
• Accepted across virtually all Hindu fasting traditions
• Deeply earthy, nutty flavour — like Japanese soba, which it closely resembles
• 100% gluten-free without added gums or binders
• Available in two sizes: 110g (single serve) and 220g (two servings)
• No preservatives, no artificial anything
• Works beautifully hot or cold — same noodle, two completely different experiences

HEALTH BENEFITS
• Rutin — a flavonoid antioxidant unique to buckwheat; peer-reviewed studies confirm it strengthens blood vessel walls, reduces inflammation, and supports cardiovascular health
• Complete Plant Protein (~13g per 100g) — buckwheat is one of few plants with all essential amino acids
• Magnesium — supports muscle function, blood pressure, and quality sleep
• Slow-Release Carbohydrates — despite being a fasting food, buckwheat has a moderate GI, preventing energy crashes during fasts
• Fibre — aids digestion and prevents constipation common during prolonged fasting

HOW TO USE
COOKING:
1. Boil water. Add noodles. Cook 4–5 minutes.
2. Drain immediately. Rinse with cold water — this is essential to stop cooking.
3. Toss at once with your preparation — buckwheat noodles become sticky if left plain.

RECIPE IDEAS
UPVAS KUTTU NOODLES (fasting recipe):
Heat 1 tsp ghee → add cumin seeds → add sendha namak, boiled potato cubes, green chilli → toss in noodles → garnish with coriander. Simple, satisfying, completely fasting-compliant.

COLD SOBA-STYLE BOWL (non-fasting):
Cool noodles in ice water → drain → dress with sesame oil, tamari, rice vinegar, grated ginger → top with cucumber julienne, edamame, sesame seeds → serve cold.

BUCKWHEAT NOODLE SOUP:
Simmer miso or simple vegetable broth → add cooked noodles, bok choy, soft tofu → serve with chilli oil.

PAIRS WELL WITH
• Ghee and sendha namak for fasting preparations
• Curd for upvas thali accompaniment
